Parent Support Advisor
St Stephen’s also benefits from the services of Debbie Youngs, Parent Support Advisor, who serves our school and several other schools in the local area. This role was created solely to support you as parents and carers by offering you confidential advice, guidance and support.
Being a parent or carer is an important role, but it can also be very demanding and all families encounter difficulties at some stage. So please don’t sit on a problem when there may be help available. Debbie can access support for you and offer advice on many areas such as:-
- Behaviour/Special Educational Needs/disability
- Childcare/play schemes/holiday activities/out of school activities
- Benefits/financial/housing/transport issues
- Education/curriculum/courses/classes
- Health care
- Parenting skills
You can see Debbie at various school events and occasionally in and around the school at the start and finish of the school day. She works on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Debbie also holds weekly ‘surgeries’ and drop-in sessions at school, which take place on Thursday mornings in the Assistant Head’s Room. Please sign in and ask at reception.
