Founded by St Stephen’s parents, Bath Chinese School offers a unique opportunity for school-age children to learn Chinese and learn about Chinese culture in the classrooms of St Stephen’s Primary School.
The familiar school setting provides a safe and pleasant learning environment. We are fortunate enough to able to make use of the classroom facilities, including the multimedia projectors connected to our teachers’ laptops, as well as the wonderful playgrounds, the field and the school hall (for Chinese dancing lessons).
Operated as a non-profit community group, Bath Chinese School is run by unpaid volunteers with support from the parents. We welcome children from all backgrounds and with all levels of Chinese language, including complete beginners.
We teach the standard tune, Pu Tong Hua, and the simplified characters used in mainland China and many other places.
The classes are run from 10:15am to 12:15pm on Saturdays during normal BANES school term time.
